#BHAQ 2. How might we understand why our laudable initiatives (SDGs, ESGs and COP) cannot bend our trajectory away from our dystopian future?
How might we cultivate equity governance to put ethical guardrails on the individual values of liberty and freedom to maximize their upsides and minimize their downsides?
As equity muses and catalytic transformational change agents, we pose complex questions to expose the limitations of reductionist thinking and simple linear questions.
Reductionism is our original sin: separation from nature and the transcendence of our higher Self.
Equity is the holistic healer of reductionism. Equity ecologically embraces interconnectedness and interdependencies to prevent atomization of self, separation from others, and fragmentation of communities.
How might we develop networks of learning communities collaborating together to address our complex web of self-inflicted wicked problems in the 21st-century, such as the abuses of power that set up human rights violations, systemic isms, inequities and a cascade of negative impacts?
Wicked problems are complex in that they have no single, simple or final solution without any right-wrong answers. Wicked problems call for moving beyond reductionist thinking.
We need an ecological framework of complex questions about how to cultivate the ontological evolution of being and becoming equity muses, who unite together in aligning, enabling and empowering people to learn how to manage the uncertainties, complexities, dynamic emergence of never-ending wicked problems.
Laudable initiatives, such as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Environmental Sustainability Governance (ESGs) and the Conference of the Parties (COP), have missed the mark in saving us from planetary demise and escalating inequities.
Earnest and well-meaning initiatives are naïve about our systemic and cultural influences that sabotage our aspirations to co-create a fair-free-flourishing-future on a healthy planet.
The immoral deep state of neoliberalism perpetrates and perpetuates political and economic entanglements that disable our efforts to solve our wicked problems.
Escalating inequities arise from the systemic meritocracy of neoliberalism that designs uneven playing fields of unfair advantages for the elites and unfair disadvantages for non-elites.
Neoliberalism is based on reductionist, competitive, linear, economic mindsets, based on “what’s in it for me?” without any consideration to complexity, collaborative, emergent, ethical mindsets of “what’s in it for us all?”
Neoliberalism excludes the interests of stakeholders and common holders. Immoral profit motives dominate over the higher calling of ethical purpose, people and the planet. What’s the missing virtue in unwoke capitalism?
Equity is a community virtue: be fair and kind to everyone. It is the North star within a constellation of virtues to guide how we solve our wicked problems.
How might we, the people
Negotiate shared meanings about what fairness means?
Develop a virtues proposition to co-create the transparent accountability of equity governance?
Cultivate mindsets based on meme, “To lead with divine Love, truth-seeking and the pursuit of equity”?
The virtue of equity is about cultivating open-mindedness, truth-seeking and free-thinking, liberated from cult leaders, the indoctrinations of propaganda machines and divisive toxic tribalism.
Equity Governance Questions
Equity is the power abuse antidote against unfair opportunities, traumas and toxicities. Equity is a cultural humility force against the cultural hubris and hegemonies of rigged inequities.
Equity governance is about how to cultivate fair rules-opportunities-rewards for all.
How might We, the people, overcome our reductionist prejudices against the fairness of equity?
How much might we, as equity learning designers, enable and enhance our prospects of meaningful survival for all of us?
How might we, equity muse trainers and leaders, enable all people to reach their highest potential of healthy well-being in ways that promote the health of the planet?
Equity is about giving us all fair opportunities to tell our inequity stories.
Equity Moonshot is about how we build story movements to co-design and build an equitable, regenerative and sustainable future. These stories involve sharing our intergenerational learning experiences about how to redress escalating inequities in way that promote the fairness of equity.
