How might we co-create synergies between first principles and simple rules to cultivate equity governance?
How might we collaborate to co-create a fair-free-flourishing-future for all, on a healthy planet?
Equity is the humanitarian virtue of fairness. Equity governance is about negotiating fair rules, fair games, and fair plays to assure fair opportunities and fair rewards for all and restoring the health of the planet. The meme for aspiration is: to Love, truth-seeking, and the pursuit of equity.
Equity Moonshot is about playing the long game of co-designing and building an equitable, regenerative, and sustainable future on a healthy planet.
Why do equity muses ask complex questions?
As equity muses, we are a new kind of transformational change agent archetype: part jester, magician, hectic, and holy fool.
As Socratic Sherpas, we ask people and their leaders complex questions about how to collaborate and solve our interconnected wicked problems, such as political corruption, inept stewardship, leadership incompetence, human rights violations, escalating inequities, climate change, planetary demise, and many more.
Wicked problems are complex in that they have no single, simple, or final solutions: no either-or answers. Wicked problems are not per se solvable, such as the power abuses of systemic isms and inequities.
Why do first principles and simple rules for equity matter?
As catalytic change agents, we enable people to develop first principles and simple rules. First principles and simple rules are related concepts that are essential for putting equity governance into practice.
First principles are in the background. They guide the grassroots process of developing simple rules to solve wicked problems. Simple rules are in the foreground.
First principles arise from meta and macro backgrounds
The process of developing first principles evolves from developing a deeper understanding of how systemic influences shape the interdependencies of our wicked problems.
First principles incorporate ontological perspectives: mindful ways of awareness about being, becoming, thinking, feeling, and perceiving. These principles guide how we use complexity, systems, and human-centered design thinking to solve our wicked problems.
How might we, as equity muses, create the pre-conditions and collaborative learning experiences of open-mindedness that enable people to:
Cultivate self-awareness and mindful understanding of how our beliefs, biases, assumptions, perspectives, ways of thinking, and different priorities in value systems limit our capabilities to solve wicked problems?
Develop as open-minded, truth-seeking, virtuous free-thinkers who work collaboratively on co-designing and building an equitable, regenerative, and sustainable future?
The development of first principles involves iteratively zooming out, in, and out to understand how the interconnectedness and disconnections between ecosystems influence each other, for better or worse.
The first principles incorporate meta and macro perspectives. These perspectives are essential for developing the ethical governance and moral influences needed to cultivate the integrity of politics, religion, legislation, and public policies to serve and empower the people. First-principle thinking provides ethical guard rails for developing the moral courage and reasoning to co-create high-level innovative solutions.
How might we, as equity muse trainers, leaders, and learning designers:
Use the community virtues of equity and equality to put ethical guard rails on the individual values of liberty and freedom to navigate the ethical dilemmas?
The above question calls for maximizing the upsides of virtues and values while minimizing their downsides.
Co-create human systems that nurture, cultivate, and exponentiate virtuous actions to prevent, preempt, and minimize wicked problems, such as escalating equities?
First principle thinking sets the stage for developing simple rules to guide people on their ethical learning journeys about how to make virtuous decisions and moral actions to launch Equity Moonshot and solve our wicked problems.
How might we mobilize the ethical power of virtues, first principles, and simple rules to build moral movements to catalyze seismic shifts in transforming mindsets and systems?
This calls for cultivating glocal innovation hubs and ecosystems, virtually and/or locally in-person, to generate the network power for serving the greater good,
First rules arise from the micro and meso foregrounds
First principles set the parameters for creating 3-5 simple rules contextualized for addressing dilemmas, causes, quests, challenges, and wicked problems.
Simple rules provide ethical guidance on how to collaborate on solving wicked problems. They are short, understandable imperative statements. Grounded in the enlightened experiences of virtues and wise practices, these rules provide a transparent, agreed-upon framework to simplify complexity into initiating moral actions to do good.
Equity governance enables the virtuous practices of assuring fairness
The primary principles and simple rules of equity governance set the ethical norms and moral directions for virtuous collaborative actions.
How might we co-develop scalable learning platforms, ethical processes, and moral practices to implement first principles and simple rules needed to cultivate equity governance and launch Equity Moonshot?
Equity Moonshot is a humanitarian-technological metaphor: create synergies between indigenous and modern wisdom to ethically guide the deployment of digital learning platforms for exponentiating positive social impacts.
First Principles: integrate ethical norms and virtuous transformations with systemic, complexity, and human-centered design thinking.
Transform our ego-centric “i” cult mindsets and divisive “we” tribalism into transcendent “I” mindsets and glocal “We” cultures
Integrate regeneration-sustainability practices into the ethical processes of cultivating equity governance
Do good for the commons, the common good, humanity, and the health of the planet
Collaborate on solving our complex web of mostly self-inflicted wicked problems in the 21st century.
Build launching pads for Equity Moonshot to generate the learning network power needed to scale up transformational change
Simple rules:
Be fair and kind to all people, nature, the planet, animals, the soil, and plants.
Do good for the long-term well-being of all
Take small and large steps to regenerate the health of the planet
