Use consciousness-rising songs to increase voter turnout
Use songs to evoke dialogues in groups of 3-4 persons (in Zoom calls or in-person events) to co-create shared meaning and understanding about using music for deep learning about wicked problems, such as reversing the demise of democracy.
Wicked problems are complex because they have no single, simple, definitive, or final solutions, with no right-wrong answers. Wicked problems have no root causes: such as unethical governance, inept stewardship, political leadership incompetence, economic and educational inequities, social deprivation, environmental degradation, climate change, food and water insecurities, mass migration, and planetary demise: to name a few of the major ones.
Our political, leadership, educational, and religious systems have yet to align in developing lifelong intergenerational learning processes for redressing our meta-crisis of systemic power abuse dynamics that set up our poly-crisis, the complex entanglements of our self-inflicted wicked problems, and our poly-crisis of living beyond planetary boundaries.

With truth decay, propaganda machines, and the demise of democracy, we will remain in our dystopian trajectory into the amoral abyss.
With a high-functioning, participatory, and deliberative democracy, we can bend our dystopian arc toward an equitable, regenerative, and sustainable future to benefit all.
How might we democratize the music-making process of enabling anyone, particularly non-musicians, to write lyrics for a song about how to learn from our challenging experiences of exploring, understanding, and addressing our wicked problems?
The process of writing lyrics about learning from personal experience involves developing a broad range of skills: ethical discernment and virtues and values, self-awareness about assumptions, values, beliefs, and interpretations, slow thinking, reflection-on-action, perspective-taking, thinking about thinking (meta-thinking and meta-cognition), learning about learning (meta-learning), empathy, and emotional self-regulation.
